The XL Nation Values Survey

It's coming this month! Mid-February we are launching an XL Nation Values survey based on Richard Barett's renowned model of Cultural Transformation and Seven Levels of Community Consciousness. It is sponsored and managed by Helen Urwin, one of our founding members from the UK, who works closely with Richard Barrett.

WHAT to expect?
The survey will map the personal values of XL Nation Members and Citizens and our perception of the current and desired culture values of our community.

The same process has been done to transform corporations, NGOs, government institutions; communities as well as nations, most notably in the US after President Obama resumed his office. The US Values study is the first of a series to be conducted throughout Obama’s office term in order to monitor the values that are common to the nation. The Other studies at nation level were conducted in Argentina, Bhutan, Denmark, Latvia and Iceland.

WHY are we doing it?
This process is of great value in planning for our future as XL Nation. It has been found invaluable in mapping the values of communities that share a common heritage or purpose – which for us, XL Nation, is the World Wide Wealth.

In the case of the US Nation Value Study, Richard Barrett commented that “the data will be invaluable for informing government, public agencies and corporations about what is most important to Americans…and bring efforts to alignment.” The study reveals those values that unite the nation in shared understanding, direction and purpose, while providing clarity to the challenges ahead.

The survey will allow us to well understand our individual and collective values and organize ourselves to accomplish our World Wide Wealth Vision 2020 in a way that best expresses these values.

WHO is involved?
Everyone. All XL Nation Founding Members and Citizens are invited and encouraged to participate.

WHEN will it happen and WHERE?
The survey will be done in couple of stages with the individual surveys opening on 15 February and closing on 15 March 2010. Afterwards we will collate the inputs and Helen’s team will process the results, which will be presented back to you at the XL Nation Convention in April. Even if you are not there in person you can still watch it through the U-Stream worldwide in real time or later view the recording of the live event.

HOW will the results be used?
The results will be used by the XL Nation Leadership team and Circle leaders to decide how we want to structure and manage the XL Nation going forward to create flow and be on purpose, especially serve as a guide for the following 6 months when plan to put these structures in place.

NEXT STEPS
Once launched – participate in the survey AND ensure all other XL Nation Citizens you know participate as well! This is your chance to shape the XL Nation. Make your voice and values count.

Welcoming New Members to our World!

Last week we we had 3 citizens join XL Nation at the Wealth Dynamics Workshop on the Gold Coast and 14 people apply for XL Nation citizenship at the WDW on the Gold Coast. That makes a total of 17 people over the weekend.

XL Nation Directors Update

Director's Update

XL team, over the last number of weeks, we, Charles Buffet, Katrina McGilchrist and Martin Jimmink, as possible directors have been meeting weekly to discuss the responsibilities and roles of the directors and the overall model of XL Nation. 

While XL Nation and it's vision is jointly the responsibility of it's members, the director's in addition have corporate responsibilities which need to be fully understood prior to committing to incorporation.We do not take these responsibilities lightly and are currently doing our due diligence giving it the care it requires to come to 100 % commitment based on clarity of knowledge. 

It's been inspirational to see while we have been working on incorporation many of you have been stepping up to lead or support circles in your area or area of interest and helping new citizens to join. The feedback on line if you haven't had an opportunity to see it is great. It shows the beginning of what collectively we can accomplish through XL Nation on a world wide scale.

I, we will keep you informed as things progress and thank you for your ongoing support.

XL Nation Melbourne Circle Soundbite-

Here the Melbourne Community Circle worked with Richard Yiap- Quantum Mapping Master ( and XL Nation Founding Member!) on gaining greater Clarity, Vision and Purpose for the social enterprise that the circle wants to support.
You'll be able to hear the process the group went through and also hopefully sense the energy shift. It was so great to see a group go to heart space and get some clarity on the criteria to "help" them agree on principles for their social enterprise!

Update on XL Nation Projects and resource requirements

The convention saw a fundamental shift in the way that the formation, set up and running of XL Nation was viewed. Convention participants went away very clear that XL Nation is a Nation of members, for the members and run by the members, not set up and run by a group of paid employees or a hierarchy of members making decisions in isolation. In fact, as I said last week of one project we discussd, ‘if no one says they can do it, it’s very likely it may not get done’. The official disbanding of the Transformation Team as it was, happened last week, at convention and created the space for more people to get involved on a project basis in the set up, creation and running of our Nation. It removes the ‘them and us’ and leaves only ‘Us’

So today’s update is very practical

XL Nation, now that it is incorporated as a Not for Profit Organisation (or, as ‘A for Social Profit’ Organisation) is looking for individuals and organisations that want to be able to contribute to its growth and sustainability by either directly donating funds, specifically sponsoring projects in XL Nation or project leading a task to be completed.

Income for XL Nation will of course be generated by Citizenships, as well as funding in the long term and with the right systems and infrastructure for XL Nation and its members we could easily, in the future, support the arrival of 50-100 new members a month. The challenge we have right now, is, in order to build those systems and infrastructure, we need funding available to enable some of the even most basic projects meet their milestones.

At the Convention last week, when we explained the projects, their dependencies and priority for completion, several people stepped up to either project lead or to sponsor the development of a project, which was fantastic!

Perhaps as you support XL Nation, you would also like to sponsor a specific project and have your name/company name attached to that project as the official sponsor, or perhaps you would like to make a specific donation, that XL Nation can apportion to the projects below in order to meet its priorities. Perhaps your company is a service provider and you would like to sponsor a project with your time e.g.) accounting services, website development and hosting, systems development, or you can project manage the completion of one of the projects.

Each project as outlined in the attachment, has a specific $ value attached to it, a member of the Team that is project managing it and a description of how the money will be used to further the work of XL Nation.

Today I received the XL Extraordinary Lives" award 2009. All I can say is that XL made me extraordinary. I joined XL in 2006. Today I don't even recognise myself. My heartfelt thanks to Roger and all my mentors, Mike, Dave, Paul, Martin made this possible for me. A special thanks to all my friends in XL who have been supporting me throughout and specifically Mike Handcock who believed in me, even before I started believing in myself. I believe XL Nation is going to bring in the Golden Age we have all been waiting for. I will always remain a part of this great Nation
